We are a small family breeder located in North Florida. Our family of six live on an acre farm that we lovingly call Black Dog Ranch, named after our favorite black lab, Ellie.
We learned early on how important a dog can be in someone’s life. When our two youngest children were adopted from Uganda, they were afraid of animals, but our older daughters were raised with dogs, cats and other animals and learned to love and respect all animals in their care. Our goal was to teach the kids that animals can be safe and loving, so a year after being home, we rescued Ellie (our black lab) as a puppy from a local shelter. She spent the next 7 years of her life doing exactly what we needed. She loved on our family and subsequently made dog lovers out of our once terrified preschoolers. Since then, our family has cared for multiple dogs, cats, fish, snakes, chickens, rabbits, and pigs! I’d say Ellie did a pretty good job!! We desire to be a part of other people's heart healing journey. Dogs can touch a need in a human heart unlike any other and we want to help families find their missing piece, or help them in their selection of the service, facility or therapy dog.
All of our puppies are raised in our home and are loved as our own until they become part of your family. They meet a variety of people and are exposed to other dogs and animals on our farm. We focus on raising puppies with excellent health and temperaments. We use a structured puppy curriculum which includes Early Neurological Stimulation Exercises (ENS), Early Scent Introduction (ESI), as well as Handling Exposure. Our structured program begins at 3 days old, and we will show you how to continue the training when you bring your puppy home. We are not just raising puppies; we are laying a firm foundation for their future!
